A few recent consultancy projects have involved AB Marine in the stability analysis of some military landing craft. These vessels are heavily loaded and their stability for both intact and damaged conditions is usually marginal.
This was our first application of the German stability standard for Naval Vessels – BV Booklet 1030-1. We found the standard often used a different approach to the more usual IMO stability criteria.
